I don’t know how they tracked this down, but someone got a recording of the REAL feed from Britney Spears’ microphone during her “Live from Las Vegas” concert special on HBO. All I have to say is…..hahahahahHaaaaaHahahahaHAHHHHHHAAAHA! There really are no real words to describe it besides….worse than expected!

Hello. Bender here! After a Bender-less weekend. I finished filling in for Marc on mornings as of Friday and I was far too wiped to go out! Instead, it was a weekend of catching up on sleep and yardwork! Let me tell you. If you have an apple tree, make sure you pick up the apples from the ground - DAILY. If you don’t, your backyard will be wasp central. I have tons of drunk wasps crawling around my yard which makes relaxing in the bakyard difficult.
Anyhow - I digress. On Sunday, I was at a kid’s birthday party at The Fun Factory (you know.. the place with balls and slides??!). I was walking past a table of 3 yound adults when it looked like one of them pointed at me. I thought they were pointing at a sign behind me. And then I thought I heard, “Hey Bender”, but wasn’t sure so I kept walking. WRONG!! My apologies to those people!! I’ve heard many stories of another Saskatoon radio personality’s “unapproachability” and promised I’d never be like that. Maybe I was shy at the moment or figured there was another “Bender” in attendance and maybe they were calling out for him. So, whenever you see me out and about, say HI! We really do appreciate our loyal listeners. We realize we’re still new and we’ve gotta win you over! Thanks again!

Bender and I got to chat with Jully Black before her performance at The Saskatoon Ex a few weeks ago. She was SUCH a funny lady and super super super nice. We had a really great chat about what it means to be a female Canadian artist breaking new ground, why she thinks we don’t always embrace our own, and she eats her very first SPUDNUT!
I got to chat with Keith Nelson from Buckcherry before they took the stage at Cruefest last week! We talked about thier new album, what keeps them going on the road, and what its like to see an 8 year old kid sing along to Crazy Bitch!!
Bender here… filling in for Marc & Blake all this week. Kudos to Kokanee for a well done campaign that had the beer loving nation wondering if the Kokanee Ranger will live or die. Last night during primetime TV, a 2:30 minute commercial aired with the fate of the ranger. If you’re a Sopranos fan, it may have looked familiar. It was a spoof on the famous last scene of The Sopranos. Except in the Kokanee version, we know the ranger doesn’t make it.
Moustache Man perhaps had in inkling that the unthinkable might happen and a letter was found with the following quote from the ranger, thanking ”wonderful people out there who have shown (him) their support,” because it has made him “feel like the most popular girl at the dance - but with a moustache,” he also left some final thoughts. “The next time you open a glacier-fresh tasting Kokanee and it makes that ‘psssht’ sound think of me standing behind you saying ‘psssht. Hey you. I’m standing right behind you’.”
Folkfest is here! I’ve been away from Saskatoon for a few years so it’ll be my first Folkfest in a while. I’m part Dutch and a little bummed that the Dutch Pavilion is no longer. Probably due to a lack of volunteers and the older Dutch community disappearing. Oh well.. Germany’s pretty close Holland so I’ll be sure to get my `beer on’ at the German Pavilion. I hope it’s still the same with the beer mugs swaying in the air and everybody crooning along to the polkas. What else is worth checking out? Let me know!!! -Bender

In a recent post, gossip website TMZ.com insinuated that L’Oreal lightened the colour of Beyonce’s skin in an upcoming ad campaign.
Of couse L’Oreal is saying it did no such thing, issueing a statment saying:
“We highly value our relationship with Ms. Knowles. It is categorically untrue that L’Oréal Paris altered Ms. Knowles’ features or skin tone in the campaign for Feria hair color,”
